I realize i have been slacking in the updating department, and that's not by accident. I've just been busy. The last month of my life has been full of wonderful things, and not so wonderful things. I just got back to school, and i'm loving the apartment. I wake up in the morning thinking i'm on vacation with my friends. We just rented this place for a little while and school just happens to be right here. It is the most bizarre thing.

so basically, my life is really good. i have absolutely nothing to complain about. maybe that's why i have nothing to write about... i'm not miserable anymore. Like i've said before, this happy feeling... i'm not use to it being there all the time. but i love it.

priceless quote of the day:
"Mom and Dad thought it would be too much money to have 5 bedrooms, so they decided they would share a room."

i love kids... haha they just crack me up

» oh happy day :)
Today, while ridding a closet of old winter coats, i found a $10 bill in a pocket and it completely made my day.
Stuff like that just doesn't happen.

In other news, i'm a very confused person. In addition to confused i'm happy, shocked, sad, angry, and really really confused. But i guess it's the nature of things to completely out of whack and i'm just going to take things as they are.

Beth! call me!

<------ didn't get the bank job :(
actually, there were no positions available in Natick, and since i have zero transportation i couldn't take the job anywhere else.
So i have to go job hunting for a few days.
My Dad suggested CVS.
My Mom suggested Roche Bros.
I REFUSE to work at Roches.
I'll find something, even if it's two part time jobs.
» thank you God for a lovely day
I've been so mellow lately, just wanting to spend time with myself.
I'm also getting ready to move out for the 3rd time, head back home, and prepare for my final year here at good old Westfield. I swear i just moved in.
But that was 3 years ago. And to that i say, holy moly...

My favorite part of the weekends are getting tea from the DC.
Sitting on the floor and drinking it is wonderfully calming.
plus, it's good tea.
I also realized i like breakfast by myself. I can't explain why, but i do.

Damn. I thought it would be a good idea to glue my end of the semester list of things to do to my desk, since i didn't have any tape. Now it's stuck there.
I'll have to scrap it off when i get a free minute this week.
Like, after finals.

Joe called me last night, thinking i was home. It was nice.
Nice to know i'm going home to wonderful people. It was a nice thought to have.
Oh, and Andrea too. She always calls me. One of the few at least.

I'm on an Elton John kick. I think i need to purchase a greateast hit CD or something
Oh, and i hope i achieve my 3.0 this semester so i can get the gift i'm getting for myself.
Last semester, i received a 2.92... dammit, that made me mad. So close.

Hey it's dinner time.
ciao loves

today, the rain reminded of me summer.
i like to play in summer rain.
there's just something calming about it.

but today was cold rain, and it wasn't wonderful.
infact, i'm sure Scanlon Hall is the lowest point on campus.
it was surrounded by a large puddle.
a lake, in fact.

Best thing ever?
A hug, where you can just be there, still holding on to the other person.. and they just don't let go.
And they don't want to let go.
Simply. Wonderful.

I need more of that.

» when i was 21 --- it was a very good year....
I'm excited about 2004.
I can only hope it's as great a year as 2003.
I guess i just wanted to give a quick run down of the past year.
It was a fantastic year, i have high hopes for the new one.

The year started off on the wrong foot when we had to say goodbye to Tiffany... but it was for the best.
I had the greatest roomate spring semester. She touched me in so many ways, and i only knew her for a short period of time.
I lost my "adopted" grandmother, Aunt Nat, in May to lung cancer. I miss her more than anything.
I nannyed yet again this summer for the kids next door (Joe and Lizzie) and the Banerjee girls (Maalika and Devika). Those kids are 4 of the greatest little people i have ever met.
I spent July 4th on the beach with Veronica. We got sunburned and wiped ourselves out, but it was well worth it.
I had the greatest summer of my life thanks to Mel, and the great friends i have made through her (Rob, Joe, Steve, Dan and Kate). Walden Pond, the aquarium, the Cape, the parties, the craziness... best time ever.
I started seeing a counselor, which has done wonders for my mood and esteem. I dont know what i did without her.
My dad had a scare with this lungs in October thru November. Thankfully (after many, many nights in the hospital), they found that the nodules on his lungs were not cancer, or TB. They do not, however, know what it is. But as long as the big stuff is ruled out, i'm not going to worry. I dont know what i would have done without my dad.
I had the greatest fall semester--- thanks to my roomates, Mel and Rob, my brother, and a Sgt.
Beth took me to see FOCS' farewell show mid December. I'm so glad i saw them with her for the last time. They were such a huge part of our high school years, i'm glad we didn't miss it.
I turned 21 this year! Thank you to everyone who made this year a great one for me :)
We lost my uncle a few days ago. He will be missed.

Overall, i think this was one of the best years i have had in a while. The year 2000 was an amazing year, and 2001 was the worst. But this one sits at the top.
This year, i finish it off with a shing-dig at Ms. Beth's apt. in Brighton with her, Matt, Mel, and Rob. Last year, we did the same, minus one face. Time for food, friends, drinks and games.

Have a wonderful, SAFE, fun-filled new year!
Happy 2004!
love to all, erin
» pina coladas, green hands and Mel's new Mary Jane's
I know I’m a little late in updating, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone who called me on my birthday, or to anyone I saw, or talked to. I had such a wonderful day and I have all of you to thank for it. :)

I started out December 23rd by going with my mom to her work to drop off some Christmas cookies. I love seeing everyone there, since they have known me for so long. Then, after a quick stop at home, I headed to the RMV to get myself a Mass Liquor ID. I needed one since I don’t drive, and I need some type of ID since I’m now 21. I'm going to want one, ya know. So then, I relaxed for a while. I was up early and on the go so I wanted to rest since I was going to have busy night.

Mel and Rob came over before dinner to give me a little something. Rob gave me an ever-so-appropriate card, and some shot glasses, which I’m sure I will put to good use. Melissa, being the talented chica that she is, made me the gorgeous pillow! The front was completely quilted, with patches of a duck, the Gryffindor symbol, and a shamrock. I still can't believe she made it... best gift ever :) Then, it was off to get Dan and to exchange gifts with him (yes, I broke my rule about not giving gifts on my birthday, but I had to). He gave me this nice card and the movie Shrek, which I’m very excited about. After we all gave him his stuff (green hands and all) we were off to meet Joe and Steve at Bennigan's. I decided that I didn't have a need to get completely trashed on my 21st birthday. I just wanted to go to dinner with a few of my closest friends, order a drink, and still have an amazing time. And that's exactly what it was. It was wonderful.

Thank you Mel, Rob, Dan, Joe, and Steve for a great night (even though only Mel will read this). It was simple, yet perfect, and exactly the way I wanted it to be.

Perfect day, perfect night, perfect friends.
I will say... I’m pretty damn lucky.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!
love erin
» thank you Jake for cheering me up with this.
Things to do during a "Lord of the Rings" movie:

1. Stand up halfway through the movie and yell loudly, "Wait... where the hell is Harry Potter?"
2. Block the entrance to the theater while screaming: "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" - After the movie, say "Lucas could have done it better."
3. At some point during the movie, stand up and shout: "I must go! Middle Earth needs me!" and run and try to jump into the screen. After bouncing off, return quietly to your seat.
4. Play a drinking game where you have to take a sip every time someone says: "The Ring."
5. Point and laugh whenever someone dies.
6. Ask the nearest ring-nut if he thinks Gandalf went to Hogwarts
7. Finish off every one of Elrond's lines with "Mr. Anderson."
8. When Aragorn is crowned king, stand up and at the top of your lungs sing, "And I did it.... MY way...!"
9. At the end, complain that Gollum was offensive to Ethiopians
10. Talk like Gollum all through the movie. At the end, bite off someone's finger and fall down the stairs.
11. When Shelob appears, pinch the guy in front of you on the back of the neck.
12. Dress up as old ladies and reenact "The Battle of Helms Deep" Monty Python style.
13. When Denethor lights the fire, shout "Barbecue!"
14. Ask people around you who they think is the next "Terminator" sent from the Middle Earth of the future to assassinate Frodo Baggins
15. In TTT when the Ents decide to march to war, stand up and shout "RUN FOREST, RUN!"
16. Every time someone kills an Orc, yell: "That's what I'm Tolkien about!" See how long it takes before you get kicked out of the theatre.
17. During a wide shot of a battle, inquire, "Where's Waldo?"
18. Talk loudly about how you heard that there is a single frame of a nude Elf hidden somewhere in the movie.
19. Start an Orc sing-a-long.
20. Come to the premiere dressed as Frankenfurter and wander around looking terribly confused.
21. When you see Sauron's eye, stand up and yell, "It looks like a flaming vagina. I hear penecillin is good for that."
